PADI Open Water Course Outline & Schedule
The Open Water course is conducted over 2.5 days, with the first day being a half day in the swimming pool and the next 2 days out in the ocean. In order to complete the course in this time frame, without spending too much time on the theory side of things while on holiday, you should complete the PADI online e-learning before arriving here in Bali. This means that all the theory is taken care of and there's no need to spend time in the classroom! You need to allow 8-12 hours (multiple sessions possible) to complete the E-learning and you must have access to reliable WiFi and a PC or laptop.
Day 1 - Pool Session
We will pick you up between 7.30 and 8:00 am from your hotel and bring you to our training facilities. The pick-up confirmation will be sent to your e-mail after the booking and payment are complete.
You will spend the time learning the equipment set-up and pool training, usually finishing in 3-5 hours depending on your comfort level.
Day 2 - Blue Lagoon 2 x dives
Pick up at 7.30am, drop off 3.00pm. Transfer time of 1-1.5 hours each way in the car, 5 minute boat ride.
Here you will complete your first 2 dives. Diving at Blue Lagoon is like diving in an aquarium, sheltered bays with lots of natural life gives you a great start to your undersea experience.
Option 1
Day 3 - Tulamben Wreck 2 x dives
Pick up at 7.00am, drop off 5.00pm. Transfer time of 2.5-3 hours each way in the car through some beautiful scenery, shore dive.
One of these dives will be on the USAT Liberty wreck. With the wreck extending 120m long and starting from 3m deep it is a must see in Bali. Slightly longer transfers on this day but well worth it for some amazing diving.
Option 2
Day 3 – Nusa Penida 2 x dives
Pick up at 7.00am, drop off 3.00pm. Transfer time of 30 minutes each way in the car, 30 minute boat ride.
The islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan lay just off the South East coast of Bali and offer some of the best diving in Indonesia as well as the possibility of diving with Manta Rays. The other great thing about this trip is the shorter transfer times.
