BANKING AND FINANCE DISPUTE SETTLEMENT
Methods, Challenges, and Opportunities

FACT: The increasing complexity and sophistication of financial markets, products, and innovations calls for more specialized methods of dispute resolution in cross-border, B2B banking and finance transactions based on legal, technical, and contextual industry knowledge.
Financial institutions across the globe are keen to exploit the benefits of ADR as instruments to resolve disputes arising from a wide variety of international banking and finance transactions from the renegotiation of sovereign debt to the expedition of straightforward loan repayment claims. In line with this trend, many international banks and other financial institutions have reorganized their dispute resolution departments and their internal disputes risk management systems to account for the clear advantages of out-of-court redress mechanisms.
Our workshop will provide both a knowledge and an appreciation of ADR mechanisms and commercial and investment arbitration and their roles within the global banking and finance legal landscape. It offers a multi-faceted understanding of the types and natures of disputes and snapshots into project finance, sovereign lending, and mergers & acquisitions.
Are you a government official responsible for banking regulations, a banking and finance executive, an investment and/or commercial banker, an attorney frequently dealing with matters in the banking and finance industry, a hedge fund manager or private equity professional, a member of the in-house counsel team of a bank or other financial institution, an international arbitrator or mediator aspiring to add or improve expertise in banking and finance, a professor, legal academic, or student looking to increase real-time knowledge, or an investor affected by current financial developments?
If so, BIAMC’s 1-Day Workshop is ideal for you! At BIAMC, we merge practical, comprehensive curriculum with unparalleled instruction from top foreign and domestic experts in the field of banking and finance dispute resolution.

Bali International Arbitration Mediation Center (“BIAMC”) emerged as an affirmation of three distinct yet interwoven Asia Pacific phenomena: The Association of Southeast Asian Nations ASEAN), China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR), and The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

The sheer number of projects stemming from these initiatives is and will continue to be staggering. As transnational cooperatives are forged, two inevitable byproducts result: growth and conflict. The former has been engendered through unfathomable global partnerships never previously imagined, which have resulted in a limitless galvanization of economies all across the Asia Pacific region. However, the latter has proven to be a mounting concern and justifiable obstacle to continued prosperity. That’s where we at BIAMC come in.

We are a non-profit service center located both in Kuta on Bali Island and in Jakarta on Java Island within the Republic of Indonesia devoted to international dispute settlement through arbitration, mediation, or fact-finding. As the most populous country of ASEAN, Indonesia is in a prime position and BIAMC, as a private, neutral, non-profit venue, aims to develop Indonesia's arbitration and mediation capabilities through international cooperation. Thus, we can aid in bringing about international arbitration and mediation for Indonesia with local friendliness through its archipelagic attractiveness. ...
